| Hi, I am Balan V.Iyer. I am looking for like minded people who are interested in listerning to old Hindi songs (from 1948 to 1965 ... the golden era of Hindi film music). I have a personal collection of almost 7000 songs of absolute vintage value in cassettes and CD's and would like to hold regular music listening sessions for the real connoisseurs of Hindi film songs. My songs collection encompass almost all the singers (Rafi, Talat, Mukesh, Lata, Asha, Shamshad, Noorjahan, Suraiya, Saigal, etc. and the music maestros (those days we really had them unlike the current crop) like Husnlal Bhagatram, Naushad, Ghulam Mohammad, Shankar Jaikishen, C.Ramchandra, S.D.Burman, Roshan, Chitragupt, etc....the list goes on. Ideally the target audience would be of age 45+ although others too are welcome to join. I do not have any specific plan as to how to go about this, but I have all the songs with me. Could I find out through this forum whether this idea of unwinding would appeal to friends? |
