Ayoung entrepreneur with a group of companies to his credit, a dynamic businessman,
he churns out ideas faster than a windmill. Dissatisfied with the
training being given in the IT sector, Mr. Kherani started IANT in 2004.
Today, he heads the organization to the fast paced development it is attaining. We got
a few minutes to chat with him, in which he came across about the start and development
of his centre from a one-room office to the 39 centres he has today all over
India.
What, according to you, does a young professional need today in order to be
a success in the field of hardware and software engineering and networking?
The field of hardware and networking is a multi-dimensional one. Anyone, at any
period of time, with any qualification can get into the field. They need to be hardworking
as well as interested in the field, because ultimately they have to work for
their whole lives in it. In addition to that, they need to do courses like A+, N+, MCSE,
RHCE, CCNA, CWNA etc. for hardware and networking. For software careers, one needs to do courses like C, C++,
Dotnet, Java, Oracle etc. Hardware and networking and software engineering sector is progressing by leaps and bounds
today. There are lots of progresses still left to attain in the field. This will ensure that within the next 2 years, the demand
for professionals will go up by five times. With this boom in IT, the opportunities for young professionals is going to be
tremendous. Young professionals are going to be the talk of the day in the IT industry. So my advice to young people is:
go all out and explore the field; tomorrow remains yours.
When did you think of starting the institute? How did the inception take place?
I have worked in IT institutions for more than five years before I started my own institute. I thus know how the other institutes
work and think. When I was working in these IT training firms, I saw a lot of fake promises being made. Students
were charged phenomenally high and were not given proper industry oriented training. With poor infrastructure and fake
promises that were made to the students, they were playing with the future of the ambitious students, who wanted a career.
Being a part of those institutions, it felt heavily upon me to see students not gaining anything for which they were paying.
Thus I decided to start my own training institute, which would give genuine training with proper knowledge and help them
build their careers. There are proper guidelines for what to do and what is strictly not allowed in my institution. Anyone
who doesn’t follow the rules plays with the future of my students, and is not needed. Students get what they pay for here.
The courses are structured in order to train them globally, not just nationally.
What are the changes that have taken place in the institute since it started?
Well, I had started this institute in 2004 with a one-room office, two computers, which I had taken on rent from friends.
With my knowledge and experience in the IT field, I put all that I had into my institution to make it a success. With hard
work and sincere approach it started growing steadily. Today, I have 39 centres all over the country, 17000 students trained
under our banner, world-class infrastructure facilities in all my centres as well as a reputation that is rock solid to my credit.
Our courses are structured in such a way that the students can get a job anywhere in the country as well as succeed if
they go out of India. Building an institution, which provides education with global standards, is my ultimate goal. I have
achieved some of it, but there is still a lot to be done.

What are your plans in the near future for making IANT even bigger than it is today?

900% since we started and we continue to grow. We are planning to open more than 40 centres all over India in the next
2 years. We are going to step up the outsourcing of the software development that we currently do. We are also going to
be entering into the visa-consulting field soon, dealing in all kinds of visas for different countries. A placement consultancy
in US is also in the pipeline as of now. There are many projects in the pipeline, but they will take place as and when
time and efforts permit us.
